Where to Start

At Lake Norman Orthodontics, we treat patients of all ages with a full range of orthodontic treatment options. Whether it’s a child’s first orthodontic screening or adult treatment, every plan Dr. Anne Marie creates is personalized to the individual patient.
If you’re not sure where to begin, that’s exactly what the free consultation is for. Dr. Anne Marie will evaluate your teeth, walk you through your options, and give you a straightforward recommendation about what will work best and why.

Kids, Teens, and Adults: We Treat Them All

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic screening at age seven. Most kids will not need treatment that early, but early evaluations allow Dr. Anne Marie to spot developing issues before they get complicated. If early treatment makes sense, she will tell you. If it does not, she will tell you that too.

Braces

Metal braces are often the most effective orthodontic tool available, and today they are smaller and more comfortable than what most adults remember. Brackets are bonded to the front of each tooth and connected by an archwire that is adjusted over time to move your teeth into position. For complex cases in particular, nothing gives Dr. Anne Marie more control.
We also offer clear ceramic braces for patients who want a less visible option, and colored elastic bands for patients who want to make treatment a little more personal. If you are not sure which type is the right call, we will figure that out together.

Clear Aligners

We offer Angel Aligners, Spark Aligners, and Invisalign, giving Dr. Anne Marie the flexibility to match each patient with the system that fits their case best. Clear aligners use a series of custom-made trays to gradually shift your teeth into position. The trays are nearly invisible and come out for eating, drinking, and brushing.
Treatment starts with a 3D digital scan of your teeth. Dr. Anne Marie uses that to design your full treatment plan before anything is made. Most patients swap to a new set of trays every ten days and come in for a check every eight to ten weeks. Clear aligners work well for most cases, though some complex issues are still better handled with braces. We will tell you honestly which option is right for your situation.

Retainers

When your braces come off or your final aligner tray is done, your teeth need something to keep them in place. Teeth shift naturally over time, and retainers are what prevent that from happening after all the work you have put in.
We offer both removable and fixed retainer options. Dr. Anne Marie will recommend the right type based on your treatment and your lifestyle. Wear it as directed and your results will stay exactly where they should.

The Technology Behind Your Treatment

We use the iTero intraoral scanner to create precise 3D digital models of your teeth. The scanner captures thousands of data points in a matter of minutes, giving Dr. Anne Marie a detailed foundation for your treatment plan. It is also used to generate Invisalign simulations so you can see a projection of your results before treatment even begins.
